Our recirculating aquaculture grow-out system (RAS)
We pioneered the use of recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) to produce Murray cod in the late 1980’s. Today, we have almost 30 years of experience in the recirculating aquaculture of Murray cod, and continue to produce premium quality Murray cod that consistently fetches market prices that are up to 40 per cent higher than the average wholesale price of farmed Murray cod from other producers.

Visit from Aquaculture Delegation from Henan Province China
The delegation of 16-person comprises a mix of aquaculture scientists from the Henan Academy of Fishery Science and the College of Fisheries at Henan Normal University, and technicians and managers responsible for fish and water resources at the country level. Our rich history
The history of Uarah Fisheries can be traced back at least 40,000 years to the indigenous Wiradjuri nation. The Wiradjuri nation was the largest Aboriginal nation in New South Wales, with settlements across most of today’s Riverina agricultural region.

Bruce Malcolm is the world’s leading expert in Murray cod aquaculture and the breeding of Australian freshwater fish. Having established Uarah Fisheries, then known as Uarah Warm Water Fish Hatchery, in 1977, Bruce has been at the forefront of fish husbandry practices for Murray cod, golden perch and silver perch for over 40 years.
